Review on Hushh Restaurant and Lounge Bar

Cuisine - Italian

Prices - 500 Rs - 1000Rs (10€ - 20€).

Location - E407, City Centre, DC Block, Sector-1, Salt Lake City

Kolkata, India

Rating - **** (very good)

After one week in Thailand always having delicious food and free of spices me and José were not feeling like having another meal at Macdonald's or Pizza Hut, we wanted something more tasty and refined.

The last time we had been to Kolkata we had been to a Lounge Bar with Ricardo and Kwame in a terrace area that was extremely pleasant and with an outstanding service. In order to get into the Lounge we had to passed by the Hushh Restaurant and the scent of Italian food and a minimalist but elegant ambience were enough to make us visit the place again and this time to have a splendid dinner.

In the menu you may find a large collection of starters and soups, then the traditional Italian Pizzas and Pasta.

I had a pasta covered with shrimps and squid seasoned with a slightly spicy sauce. I cannot say that it was outstanding but since we were in Kolkata and not Rome it was quite acceptable.

José had a Calzone for what he told me we enjoyed the meal but the presentation was not of a traditional calzone since it was not inflated as usually is but after all the taste is the most important thing.

I finished this nice meal with a fantastic brownie and vanilla ice cream, please don't leave the restaurant without having this dessert it is very special.

Review on Ebony Restaurant

Cuisine - Eclectic Indian.
Prices - 500 Rs - 1000Rs (10€ - 15€).
Location - 13th Floor, Ivory Tower Hotel, Barton Centre, Around Town.
Address - 84 M.G. Road, Bangalore, India.
Rating - **** (very good)

After two weeks of having veg meals and chicken, we decided that Kwame's visit to Bangalore was the perfect time to have a nice and tasty grilled beef.

We went to a restaurant called Ebony which is situated in MG Road, one of the busiest and cosmopolitan streets in Bangalore.

The restaurant is located on the 13Th Floor of Ivory Tower Hotel having a great sight over Bangalore. A place where Indians mingle with Westerners mostly on business related dinners.

Usually, the restaurant requires reservation but we were lucky to find a place for us, unfortunately we didn't eat on the lovely balcony the restaurant exhibits.

The service was excellent and the choice wasn't hard at all. As starter no doubt, Garlic Naan, and for main course grilled beef. The beef was simply delicious and the combination of an unhurried and quiet ambiance created a time of chill out and pleasure.

During the meal we exchanged the first insights of the Indian society and we planned our trip to Bangkok. After dinner we went to the balcony to enjoy the view over Bangalore at night time.

In the same floor there is a Lounge Bar called 13Th Floor, with a very trendy and fancy atmosphere. We went there only for two minutes since Kwame had an appointment with his boss but for sure we will visit the place again.
